"The purpose of the Community Policing Division is to develop and foster community partnerships with the citizens of Reidsville. These partnerships allow our officers to work with citizens to recognize and resolve community concerns, quality of life issues, and to solve crime problems in our city. Our Community Policing philosophy says, “We cannot do the work alone.” The Reidsville Police Department takes a proactive approach to Community Policing and works with approximately 54 Neighborhood Watch groups, which emphasize crime prevention strategies.
The Community Policing Division provides Project D.A.R.E. to approximately 400 students each semester at two elementary schools and the Intermediate School in Reidsville. School Resource Officers are assigned to the Reidsville Senior High School, Reidsville Middle School and the SCORE Center."

Using a recorded phone message, households can be provided travel restrictions and warnings, nearest shelter locations, or specific safety instructions. Warning alerts can be delivered to specific neighborhoods or communities in the event of a chemical spill or pending hurricanes or tropical storms.
